"Properly suspenseful, Covell re-creates the awestruck Doctor Watson and the scientific Sherlock Holmes in another of the sleuth's escapades. Covell gives Watson a baronial English accent and renders the unerring Sherlock Holmes in a fittingly aloof, confident tone. To be led through a criminal quagmire by so expert a voice will please any public library listener who likes a good mystery." from the American Library Association BOOKLIST January 15, 1981
"In each story Holmes masterfully discovers barely visible clues to make his crime solving deductions. Covell skillfully moves from one character to another, calling to mind the famous movie portrayals of Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce. With a captivating pace these absorbing recordings will be entertaining listening in public and school libraries." from the American Library Association BOOKLIST April 15, 1983
"Just about every audio book supplier, it seems, has taken a crack at 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' the longest of the Holmes Adventures (six hours on tape). I sampled a batch of 'Hound' readings and never found a dud. But two favorites did emerge, one by Walter Covell and one by Frank Muller. These two readers have cult followings in the audio book field, so the choice is simply one of personal taste." from The LOS ANGELES TIMES BOOK REVIEW November, 1989

For a whole bunch of reasons. For one thing, given the high price
of most companies' book rentals, it doesn't cost all that much more and you
don't have to worry about getting them back on time. When you're done you
can lend them to friends, colleagues, relatives, the boss, etc. or donate
them to tax- deductible organizations such as schools, libraries and hospitals.
You make friends, influence people and get yourself a nice little deduction.
A warning - most of our titles are worth a second or third listen. Lend them
only to friends or relatives who are in the habit of returning things.
